What are the minimum bedroom requirements in Florida?
To be considered a bedroom in Florida the room must have a closet, be at least 70 square feet, have an outside wall, have one window of at least 24 inches tall & 20 inches wide (with at least 5.7 sf of total opening space), there must be an entry door or entrance for a door.
The room must not be used to access another room (other than a closet or bath), it must have a closet, be at least 7' tall (see details regarding vaulted ceiling exceptions), and must have emergency egress. These are the main considerations, but there are also more detailed descriptions specific to Fannie Mae, HUD, Florida Building Code, FHA and appraisal requirements.
